Heritage Christian Academy

Our Program

HCA’s Christ-centered preschool program lays the foundation for academic proficiency while attending to each student’s spiritual, emotional, rational and physical needs. We structure our days with a balance of play time and intentional academic activities to ensure that each child is actively engaged. Above all else both programs will impress into these young hearts and minds God’s love for them.

Traditional and extended day programs are open to children who are three years of age through kindergarten. All students must be fully potty-trained (no diapers or pull-ups).

K3

The K3 program, serving three-year-old children, is offered from 8:30–11:30 a.m. Families may enroll their child for the two-day (Tuesday/Thursday) or the three-day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) program. K3 students are exposed to a variety of learning tools and developmentally directed playtime introducing children to the fundamental skills needed for their continuing education. Children will enjoy a time of enrichment exploring music and art through our Young Artists and Mini Movers program.

Junior Kindergarten

The Jr. K program is structured for four- and five-year-old children. The program meets Monday through Thursday from 8:30–11:30 a.m. or 12:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. The program develops necessary pre-reading and pre-math skills through play, creativity and exploration. Children participate in hands-on learning centers and our Young Artists and Mini Movers program. Activities support development of fine motor and large motor skills. Students participate in individual, small and large group activities.

Enrichment

Our enrichment programs compliment our curriculum by exposing children to art, library, music and movement in weekly sessions.

Young Artists

During this enrichment class, students get “in tune and in touch” with music, literature and art. Young Artist music helps kids understand rhythm, timing and types of instruments through singing, clapping, marching, dancing, instruments, and more. Young Artist time also engages kids’ imaginations and creativity through a variety of artistic media as they explore the works of well-known artists while developing their own budding artistic skills. Finally, our young artists cultivate a love of reading during library time by exploring age-appropriate literature of various genres from nonfiction to poetry.

Mini Movers

Mini Movers are on the go! Our preschoolers move through various developmentally appropriate activities once a week. These structured activities help to promote gross motor development, listening skills and group participation while developing basic large muscle movement, eye-hand coordination and balance. Mini Movers are constantly in motion with climbers, parachutes, hula-hoops, oversized balls, and much more!
